The guy in blue jeans and white shirt is Ryan, one of our fellow reporters. He lost his house. He's standing next to what large swaths of the Pass looked like. This is the last one I'll post today. I thought it was very evocative of the amount of damage caused in the Pass. There were piles like that all over town. That pile was a combination of a couple of houses and garages. The debris stretched down a road in piles of similar height for 500 yards at one point.

yes, keep blogging josh... and don't apologize for anything.
looking back from where you began this blog: the cavelier tone, the joking with your co-workers and audience.. to where you are today: showing what is disturbing, fewer words, and powerful photos,..conveys to the rest of us "out here" the extent of the devestation that cameras cannot portray.
thank you.

Josh,
My name is Kelly Smith, wife of Meridian Mayor John Robert Smith. I recently brought a group from Meridian to the Coast where we worked to set up a badly-needed medical clinic in Long Beach at Coast Episcopal School. I want to tell you what a profound impact the visit had on all of us. The courage and strength of the people there is inspirational. Not once did we hear complaints, only thanks for our help and their lives. I have taken away so many images and stories that I will never forget. Your photography captures so well what we witnessed as FEMA took us down the coastline from Pass Christian through Biloxi - total devastation. We pray for you all every day and will continue to help you any way we can. Thank you for the work you are doing to share these stories with those around the world.
All our best from Meridian,
Kelly Smith
